As with any application....Long Tubes are the best for peformance, but with 4x4 I don't think it's an option. Mid-length is the most performance you can get. As far as brands, pretty much all the same. JBA has some excellent stuff but is pricey. Their firecone is patented and increases flow compared to others. Your gonna pay more for stainless. I wouldn't buy anything otherwise. From one brand to the next, their all gonna be neck-neck. JBA is my 1st choice.

rough rule of thumb is not to expect more than
3% max hp gain with mufflers & headers
7% max hp gain with headers and less than 1 psi (almost no muffler)

some of the best looking workmanship on long tube headers
seems to come from John Mercedes' build of long tubes

the most dependable test of headers on a stock 5.7 V8
was done by Steve Dulcich on some TTI long tube headers
as a preliminary to trying cams:

as far as other advertisements about 5.7 Headers
on the internet
take them with a huge grain of salt
and do not underestimate the hassles that badly made headers can cause

I'll be getting the JBA Cat-Forward Headers for christmas this year. I thought about getting the Pacesetter LTs but I really dont want to mess with relocating the Cats or any of the wiring. Im not sure if they make them for the 07' though...

Wow, JBa all the way from Pacesetter! Great choice. I call them Junksetters. Very thin Mild steel tubing and the welds aren't the greatest! I'm gonna go with JBA as well because they are an even swap for the stockers and no addded work is needed. Can be done in a few hours with ease as long as your bolts aren't all rusted up.
Here's a tip*** To help loosen up your bolts, spray some PB Blaster or penetrating oil on them while cold and let them sit so it breaks up the inital barrier. Then after you ave driven your truck around for a while and got the exhaust all hot, spray them again generously and let it sit until the engine cools. The heat will draw the penetrating oil in. Do that 2 or 3 times before you install the headers and your bolts will come out with ease! It works everytime. Happy install
