I found a set of lights that I'm gonna get. They are Brand new and have a nice price. They are PIAA's new All Terrain Pattern ATP http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamp-pages/520atp.html

I make my own out of tractor utility lights, and aircraft landing lights.

It has been described by many people as "retarded bright"

Hey 6 Hemi Ram I like you light set up with the day-lighters. One question that I was wondering was if those are street legal when driving at night. I wanted to do the set up with 2 in the grill and 4 over the cab like yours, but still want to be able to use them. Can I drive down the street with those and do I need a larger battery or alternator?

you can drive down the road with lights in the grill as long as they are pointing downwards I believe 1.5" every 20ft. As far as the lightbar on top, clearly you cannot drive on the road with them because you'll blind oncoming traffic.

Yeah I figured that the overheads were illegal but assumed that the grills would be fine. Is there a way to put in 2 KC daylighters (130watt) and have them hooked up to light up when I pull the light switch out for my running lights on the bumper?

as stasted above the bulkhead lights are not street legal and wont pass inspection here. i do use them though because of the deer problem and i live in the stix. the ones in the grill are legal. however, they are way too bright to leave on when oncoming traffic can be seen. im getting ready to install a foot activated highbeam switch like older vehicles used to have that operates the ones in the grill and the ones on top but also keep separate switches so i can run with upper, behind the grill or both if i want to.

No. Your computer will sense that there is more than the designated wattage being drawn and set off the diagnostic light in your dash, not to mention they may flicker or constantly trip on and off. The only was would to use a resistor in the factory wiring and tie in a relay with an activation signal while being powered seperately. That would require a bit of electrical knowledge, specifications of everything being installed and possibly some tinkering to fine tune everything. All-in-all, I would say use a seperate switch. I plan on usung my lighted switch that sits flush and has a blue LED. There a perfect spot right in front of the left knee on the lower part of the dash.

oh and an answer to your other questions. when running i dont notice much difference or drain on the alternator. so no you'll be fine with both. as for hooking into your lights, of course. there is always a way. you willl run the wire that activates the relay for the big lights to the power wire that turns on what ever lights you want the big lights to come on with.
