Default hemi question

my friend bought a new 2005 2500 ram with the 5.7L hemi in it. it has a little valve tap in it. the oil is good and its got a couple thousand miles on it. any reason y, or is it just the way it sounds normally?

It's normal... some people say that thiers dosen't have the tick, but the truth is that all of the Hemi's have a tick. It's not the valves, but rather something to do with the exhaust. Tell your friend not to worry since it's covered by the 7yr/70,000mile warranty.

yea, ours dont have an audible one, but i'd assume it's something with the exhaust...likely the exhaust manifold gasket or something didnt get tightened down all the way. But I think it can also be a "slight" bit of pre-detonation of the fuel (thats why they say run 89 but the motor runs on 87).
