Probably that front driveshaft, though I haven't felt it. If it does it in 4wd only that means pretty much the only part rotating that wasn't rotating before was the front driveshaft. THo it's a bit rough diagnosing something you don't see lol.

Not true, the front driveshaft rotates any time the front wheels are rotating.

What is the frequency of the vibration? It closer to wheel speed, ~500 cycles/minute (many times a second) or shaft speed, 1,500+ cycles/minute (probably would feel like a hum or buzz). Does it build with speed, even if its faint at low speed? Or is 55 MPH like an on-switch and all of a sudden it's shaking?

So your tires are rotating 544 RPM at 55, and the front driveshaft 2132 RPM (assuming you have 3.92's). That's 9 Hz vs 35 Hz; at 9 you could feel every cycle, 35Hz is the range you hear when someone drives by with a set of 15's blasting in their trunk. Which is the shake closer to?

Ok so FITZGERALD DODGE in Frederick MD sucks and they have ****ty techs!!!!!!
So I left work because it was bugging me so bad and went and got a alignment done my caster was off so they adjusted that and I asked him to check every thing else so he checks my cv akles what ever they are called and the right side was almost off if you tried hard enough you could have pulled it all the way off the spline.

So I took it to another dodge dealer ship about a half hour away and got a rental first they tried to put me in a caliber f that i just had to bit*h a little and i got a 08 1500 big horn with the 4.7 i think. so i guess we will wait unitl monday and see what happens.
He asked me about a lift or leveling kit and of course i told them yes and he said that it would probaly not be covered under warranty so i went into the whole maguson act and then we got to a conclusion that I do not have a leveling kit on my truck for warranty purposes its the tuff country kit so you cant see it anyways.

interesting. let me know how you make out with the CV axles. I checked mine, and they seem ok from what I can tell.

What I can say is that, when i crawled under my truck... i wanted to see something, because all my shuddering comes from under the cab area, i grabbed hold of the tranny/transfercase area and laying on my back was able to move everything. The entire engine, everything, i can shift is back and forth, like the tranny is not even held in place at all.

So i am wondering if using 4x4 hi creates so much torque that is makes the tranny/transfer case shudder around... bouncing off the rubber bumbers that sit below the rear of the tranny on the frame cross memeber????

I thought about strapping it in place to see if that helps...

I don't think it should move at all. Sounds like a broken engine/trany mount. You may want to have that checked out. At least go to the dealer and have a tech try it and see what he thinks

Oh that is a major problem, take it to the dealer for repair or replacement asap. This is a warranty issue if I ever heard one.

Yeah dude its not susposed to move at all.

I think i'm going to order a body lift and pull my leveling kit off from what im hearing now they are ok if you dont do off road but if you do thats when you have cv problems.
