Default The Shaking Stops.

Ok so of course I made a appt to take my truck to the dealership in the morning because for the last month it has been shaking on the highway, so after work and on the way to the dealership to drop the truck off, it stops smooth as can be even with the baja atz. ?????? So i left it there any way i guess i'll see what they say tomorrow.

Sounded like flat spots on the tires that maybe worked themselves out finally.

It shook just driving down the road or when you hit the brakes at highway speeds?

It could be the rotors...Or it could be your tie rods as they can shake going down the road and amplify when you hit your brakes. Keep us posted.

I had them same problem. turned out to be flat spots on the tires. Since I have only put 2000 miles on the truck since i bought it, today it is at a goodyear retailer getting tires replaced under goodyears warranty. after haveing the wheels and tires balanced, then the dealer rebalancing them(and charging me) because they "must be" weighted on the inside and outside edge of the wheel, the stick-on weights supposedly weren't good enought for the dealer.

I had the same problem with my stock Goodyears. Turned out the tires were so warped they had to be replaced fast. I put some Zeon LTZs on there and everything is as smooth as can be now. I was dreading the death wobble or some expensive IFS parts were broken. But ended up just being those terrible goodyears.

yeah with the stock goodyears i had that problem. if you dont rotate those crap tires very often they create flat spots and have an annoying vibrating sound from them as well as shaking at stopping above 50mph. as soon as i got new tires i didnt have that anymore. maybe thats this shimmy everyone speaks of and blames it on the leveling kit. i had this annoyance from around 10k miles on the truck with stock good years and ealt with it until about 40k. the stock goodyear hp were junk, i would never buy another goodyear wrangler hp for my truck

The shake would happen at 60 and above in 2wd or 4wd, and the tires are brand new so mabe after the first 100 miles that i put on them the flat spots ran out and thats why its smooth now, just talked to the dealer and of course the first thing that he says, do you want me to fix the problem its in your tires, haha then i told him they were brand new and asked if any one even drove the truck of course the answer was NO> guess we will see what progresses through the day.
