Default This is the setup I want. Will it work?

I am in desperate need of new tires as my stock (came on the 04 Ram off the lot) Goodyear Wranglers after 34K miles are done. With the addition of my twin boys 4 months ago a lift is out of the questions as is new wheels. So, I have the off road pkg, my Ram came with the same wheels that the 2nd gen had......the 17xsomething (i think 7) wheels that have 5 spokes and the two little "nubs" or bumps between each spoke. I have searched and read a million posts but would like a clear and direct answer so I will just get on with it.

I have an 04 Ram QC 1500 4X4 Off Road Pkg and I want to get a TGC 2.5 inch leveling kit and Nitto Terra Graplers in 285/70/17. I am pretty sure this setup will work. Will I have any rubbing issues without using adapters and will the truck look funny with the 285's? Thank you all for the help.

its kind of funny because when i searched detroit wheel and tire for a 2004 Ram they didnt come up however when i searched for an earlier year they did come up. i bought the truck with them on the truck and there were two others what had them as well when i bought it new back in 04. would i be able to fit 295's on these 17x8's without rubbing?

yeah x2 on the T-bar crank and you should be fine with 285's and even 295's will look alot better also filling out the entire wheel well too, i had 325x70xR17 on mine stock but i have a 2500...you will like the nitto's they ride nice and pretty good off road considering

i dont have a tors lift and i am running 285/70r17 without a single problem of rubbing so you can save the money if you want on the lvling kit but those nitto's are great tires i will be getting a set after the BFG crap tires and hopefully get the 35"ers but you will have no problem with vlearance

285's will fit no problem. I have the Nitto Terra Grapplers in that size and there's no rubbing at all. You might even consider going up to 295's, if that's doable with your budget of course.

Good luck.
