Question transmission--cold weather

I've noticed the past week my transmission is taking longer to shift. I have the 5-45rfe, and it shifts fine 1-3 gears but its staying at 2500rpms and doesnt want to shift into 4th ect.. Today it was about 35F, I let her run for about 5 minutes before I took off and still did it. Once I been driving for about 3 minutes it will shift into 4th&5th. It's just now starting to get cold here and I don know if this is due to the cold weather or not. Thanks

The trans won't warm up until you drive. With my truck it is harder for me to shift into 1 and 2nd when it is cold. But it usually only happens below 20F. Takes a few minutes and then everything is fine.

That is normal. The trans won't shift into overdrive (4th or 5th) until proper operating temps are reached.

Mine wont shift into 5th until operating temp is reached, usually a couple of minutes. I have a 2004 4.7 RC. I never recalled it doing it new but only as it hit 50k did I start to notice such behavior. I think its normal just like everybody else said.

Definately 100%, the transmission won't shift into 5th or the torque converter lock up, until the trans reaches full operating temps.
It will only do that if you dive it.
