remote start
I have this remote start already installed in my truck..

Whenever I start up my truck using the remote starter, the headlights flash on and off until I actually get into the truck and put in the key, then they turn off. Does anyone have this system or know anything about it so that there is a way to not have the headlights flash on and off constantly once I remotely start up the engine?
Thanks

I recently had a Python 1400xp remote start/keyless entry installed at circuit city and noticed that the digital odometer and digital shift indicator stay on now. I just had it installed Sunday Jan 4, 2009 and don't live close to the circuit city where I had it installed. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the Python or other remote start/keyless systems. My truck is a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi QC 4X4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can't figure it out soon I will have to take it back to CC. They took forever to install even though I had a scheduled appointment so I don't look forward to going back. Thanks.
Those alarms have an installation warranty anyways of 1 or 2yrs depending on Manufacturer. ANyways, it sounds like you just need to program it to stop doing that. You should be able to have them just illuminate or even just flash once upon start and then shut off. Most alarms are factory pre-programmed to a generic setting. I'm more than sure you have the option to disable that. The list that these simple things can do is downright disgusting. If all I could do for mine is have a button that washes my truck for me

Any issues with the start at all? I'm thinking maybe they tapped into an incorrect tach wire. I didn't have to tap into any tach wire as my set-up is an auto-learning system so I couldn't tell you which wire it is suppose to be
No problems with starting at all. First time the guy at circuit city remote started it and showed me how it was supposed to work (maybe 30 seconds), I was in a hurry and so was he so he went back in and closed the bay doors. I put it in reverse and it went very hard and was flying at idle and when I tried drive it just revved. I put it in reverse and headed back to the bay door. I decided to try shutting off and restarting which worked so it was probably tach sensing and it hasn't done it since then. I've remote started it at least 12 times since. The odometer and shift indicator bothers me more then anything. It probably draws very little power but if sitting long enough probably could drain the battery. I thought maybe other Dodge Rams may have had this problem.
