Default Door chime and No alarm after HU upgrade

Hello everyone...

first post here. I just recently traded in my Stang GT for an 04 Ram ext cab HEMI w/ the Infinity sound sys. Well I ordered a new Sony HU w/ the interface but now that it's all installed, my door chime beeps when the ignition is off like theres still a key in the ignition until I close the door...plus when I lock the doors w/. the FOB it no longer beeps the horn.

Did the stock HU handle the alarm and stuff as well?

Thanks!

lol, I had the same thing happen to me, it was a very simple wire splice for me. I had the Metra harness for retaining the stock amp, I'm not sure what kit you used, but mine was totally plug n' play.

I had to snip the red wire running from the new stereo wiring harness, then I snipped the red wire running from the metra harness to the factory truck wiring. Connect the red wire from the new stereo harness to the red wire from the back of the Metra harness.

Yeah, it sounds weird, but it worked perfectly.

When I was at one of the audio stores in our area, they usually put in the harnesses that allow all of that stuff to work for you. You can tell them you want a cheaper one, but they'll usually suggest the one that is like a stock harness for you.
