Yeah you should get an alignment after doing it I havent yet but Im gonna get it done after the 1st. Ive read that if you dont crank them to far the alignment will still be in spec I dont know that for a fact though. My truck goes straight down so that may be true but Im still gonna get it checked. Any other questions just ask there is alot of good info on here.

Yes you need to do an alignment even if you only do a level kit. Oh, and by the way, a level kit (leveling keys) and cranking the torsion bars both put added pressure on the bars. Anybody tells you that one will stiffen the ride and the other will not doesn't know what the hell they are talking about!
The key is to not stray beyond the 2.25 or 2.5" limit, topps...

My truck rides a bit stiffer but its not bone jarring at all, in my opinion the truck rode to soft. The older straight axle trucks of the 70s and 80s rode way rougher than that and steered no where near as good either.

I just added the HBS (Hell Bent Steel) 2.5" spacers to my truck last Saturday, and had it aligned yesterday (I was out of the state most of the week). I kept the stock shocks. They are still in good shape w/ 28k miles on them. My cousin and I did the install (ok, he did most of it). I certainly could not have done it myself, but then I'm not mechanically inclined, nor do I have all of the right tools to make things easier.

So far, I love the lift! It looks great, and I like the ride better too. I had the alignment done at my local 4wheelparts store, because I didn't want to take it to any normal shop. I was worried about the lift and them using stock specs. It cost me a few bucks more, but hopefully it was a good move.

Now I need to get some bigger tires and side steps!
