i wouldnt cheap out on that stuff. im going to be changing mine after winter to billstein all around...... my stock shocks were in pretty good shape for 48000 i just wanted to do all my maintence in spring when i hit 50k. so all new brakes, shocks, front/rear diffs, plugs, tranny fluids. probably going to cost a good penny but worth it......

I had to change my shocks when I leveled my truck. They were topping out when riding over potholes, dips, etc. I guess some trucks you do and some you don't. I went with Bilsteins. They were a big improvement over the stockers.

Fat Bob's Garage suggests not going more than 1.5" with the stock shocks. They state the ride may suffer. They sell a kit with 2" spacers with two new ProComp shocks that are longer than stock and make the ride better. The kit is only $150 - not too shabby. I may do it....Don't need any bottoming out....
