Default Tire/Lift Question

Well, on my door I'm thinking about getting a grill guard, then some new tires eventually. So, what I'm wanting to do is put some lift blocks on my truck. Now, what size do you think will look best? I was thinking like a 5 front, 3 back. Or something like that. Now, what do you think will look best in that, what combination? I want something up front definitely, since I'll have the weight of the grill guard pulling it down some, while I doubt it to be that much. I just don't like that nose down stance in it, and don't want it to be any worse, or have any chance to be any worse.
Also, I'm wanting to get new tires, while it'll be a little while until then. So what I'm wondering, is what sizes will fit fine with the lift blocks, and what projected costs are. Some that I've been looking at are some Mickey Thomsons, BFGoodriches, and some Bridgestones. The only problem with the Bridgestones, is that the Dueler A/T Revos only come in a 275/60R20. I don't want them that small, since they aren't that that beefy looking. I would prefer a 35.The Bridgestones aren't bad, but still need to look at them. The Nitto site took too long last time, so I haven't looked at them yet. Also, can any programmer change the tire size on the truck, or will I have to be forced to go to the dealership for that?
Any input on that will be really appreciated, as I've never messed with any of that before. Also, if anyone has any pictures also, I would like that also.

I haven't heard of putting blocks on the front. I may be wrong, but I don't think that's a good option, if even possible. You could do new spindles up front with the front and blocks in the back.

they do not make blocks for front just a leveling kit. since you have a 02-05 ram you need leveling keys or just crank the torsion bars. if you do a leveling kit or torsion bar crank and blocks in the rear it will be out of level and have the nose down stance still. you could do torsion key/torsion crank and a 3 inch body lift (not terribly hard to do but not for a someone who doesnt like a challenge either). to fit the 35's you may also need to get 1/4 wheel spacers if you go to a width beyond stock ( you will because stock width on 35's is way to narrow) i would go with the mickeys or the nittos if you want an aggressive look. the bridgestone duellers arent aggressive looking at all.

or do a 4 inch lift kit like HAMMER has and call it a day. thats what i personally would go with. it will level and lift it all around. i believe he has the rancho kit or the skyjacker i cannot remember. send him a pm about that.
what would you like to spend for tires/lift and bull bar and maybe we can help you do it on your budget. that way we know what we are working with here.

Hammer has a 4'' rancho level kit and he swears by it. It only requires 6 holes to be drilled, needs no exhaust/drivetrain mods, and appears to be the best all around kit. If you are looking for a good aggressive tire that is going to last long the mickey thompsons are usually the way to go. Look into their radial ATZ's and also really consider the Dick Cepek FCII's (a mickey thompson production). The Dick Cepeks ride smooth, wear like iron, and are aggressive enough to get you where you want to go as long as you don't overdo it... i.e- mud up to the doors. lol

Ok, I was kinda going over things tonight on what I'm looking at for budget and all.
I have around $600-800 set for a grill guard, plus anything I get for Christmas.
On my tires, I'm looking at spending around $1000 on them. Is that any what possible for the Mickey Thompsons, or the Dick Cepeks? I'd like to get either one of those, but from what I see on the sites, that is going to be damn near impossible with 20" rims.
Also, what is the cost for just like a 2" leveling kit roughly?

To help offset the cost for the tires you could sell the old ones if you still have good tread on them. Check ebay for the leveling kits. Some about $80. Around that. You are going to spend up to $800 dollars for a grill guard!?!? You looking for a grill guard or a bull bar? I personally like the bull bars better, they will also only cost between $100 - $300. Also, if your truck is two drive, you could do a spindle lift. They are pretty cheap compared to the $1300 suspension lifts.

My truck is a 4x4. I've thought about selling my old tires, because they have a great amount of tread left on them, I'm just looking at beefing my truck up a little bit first off, and I want something with some better traction on the ice. Because that's one thing that we get here, is ice. I'm torn between functionality/looks. My buddy got a Renegade grill guard for his truck, and that looks sick. Maybe with the tires, my truck could better pull off the bull bar. All the pictures you see on the sites are the little tires sitting so low to the ground. I might consider a bull bar again. I do like how they look.
