Hemi Hat
I have the afe cold air intake that is connected to the hemi hat and i was wondering that i want to get rid of hemi hat... but the only problem is that, if i got rid of the hemi hat, would i lose more mpg or not. How do you connect the tube to the throttle body? Would it help me gain more power and mpg? Would it void a warranty?
Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated.

the hemi hat.air baffle is the biggest restriction within the stock intake. im not sure how your going to attach the original afe intake to the throttle body without it looking weird. you could probably find couplers to do it but i really do not think it would look good. maybe get rid of the afe( sell in classifieds)and start froms sratch,
i cannot promise youll see better mpgs and better power increase but i would think you would see gains in throttle response and minor hp/tq gains. usually trying to gain HP and mpgs at the same time is a conflict of interests. i did my intake/exhaust/programmer for hp/tq without caring of mpg gains but i also got my truck knowing it had a drinking problem too.

It is really good and very easy to install. It gave more power through rpm band and better throttle system. It made my flowmaster rumble much deeper. PLUS it has great looking. I dont have to oil them as i can wash them easily.
i just got a rubber cupler that came with my kit and i slid one end over the tb housing and conected the rest looks awesome . the only down side of it was i had to tap my own hole for the air sensor in to the pipe. but all is good with it.

Airaid makes a modular tube that replaces the Hemi hat and clamps right onto the throttle body. Not sure if it'll work with the AFE, it hooks up to the stock air box.

I'm assuming you have this intake

They make an aFe stage 2 that has a shorter tube than the Airaid one, but I haven't seen that piece sold by itself. This is another stage 2 that goes right to the throttle body with the shorter tube that I believe would fit your application if you could find the shorter tube.

As for the Hemi hat I believe there is just 2 10mm bolts, disconnect the IAT sensor and loosen the hose clamp to the flex hose/joint going to the air box/filter and pull the Heni hat out.
