Try heating the tip up before putting it on with a torch or even put it in your oven on like 450 bake for 10 minutes. Metal expands when hot. so it may slide right on..

Yeah right, try and put a tip on when it just cames out of the oven. I can barely put a pan into the oven with the oven mitts my wife has. Forget about trying to get an exhuast tip on with them.

I also, wouldn't heat it up with a torch because you'll end up making a colorful exhaust tip even if it's coated with chrome. I would also ask if it's stainless because most Mopar stuff isn't stainless. They coat the stuff with chrome to make it look good and use mild steel. Same as their side-steps.

The exhaust end is usually flared a little bit and that's why you are having trouble, whatever you do, don't use soap. It corrodes metal. I would use lithium grease as stated before.

So, it turns out there were some burrs left behind from the manufacturing process that were sticking to the exhaust and making it impossible to get the tip on. I took my dremel and ground them down and then it slipped right on without anything else. Here are the pics:

Thanks for all your help, guys!

I have one of those myself.......put lots of polish on it. Road tar and stuff sticks to it and can be difficult to remove. Good job on the install

It is stainless, so it shouldn't rust.
