Just got my chrome tip from a Ebay authorized Mopar seller. The thing is supposed to be a weldless installation. The instructions say to slide it on and tighten down the included pressure clamp. It also says if it is hard to get the tip on, use some soap. I did that and I still can't get the thing on. Any suggestions or has anyone installed the OEM Mopar Chrome tip? I thought about using a rubber mallet, but thought I would get some input first.

make sure that clamp is loose, then slide it on, you could try soap or WD40 or whatever and if that doesnt do it maybe try your rubber hammer.

carefull you dont bend it up

Is it Stainless? If so, it's pretty darn strong. I am assuming that you do have a 3" pipe and not a 4" like the diesel. I would use a clear silicon spray and rubber mallet. It should go on that way. Can you provide a link? I was wanting one myself. The dealer is a bit too high for me.

It is stainless with chrome overlay I suspect. Anyone ever put one on themselves?

I bought mine from morpardeals for 7 bucks less, but they don't have any more advertised. Here is another one...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-...Q5fAccessories

Yeah, I know it was kind of expensive, but what the heck, a Christmas present to myself.

How many Huskies does it take to put a chrome exhaust tip on?

Just kidding with you. I think you just have to be rough with it and force it on.

muffler shops may have better price on similar tips like mopar tips.

I only paid less than 70 bucks on 2 tips. they paid off with the great look. I NEED FLAPS TO KEEP THE TIPS CLEAN. I notice that snow piled up between tips and fender.

Haha, apparently not one! It would seem it would be easy.

I thought about getting one from a muffler shop, but I wanted this one.
