Default Fluid level for differential

I understand that there was a TSB out on the 9.25 axle, that called for different fluid levels. As I remember it, one series was supposed to be filled all the way to the bottom of the fill hole, and another was only to be filled to 1/4 inch below the hole. Does anyone remember this TSB, and how would I tell which one my truck has?

I have read both of the fill capacities and am also unsure as to the correct levels?

One person even suggested that the overfilling to "just below the fill hole" would cause the pinion/seals to blow??

All rear fluid differentials should be filled 1/4-1/2" below the fill hole regardless of make or model.
