Default Oil-less Intake System

I was wondering about oil-less intake system. Is there are any outthere? Or is the oiled filter not messing with the sensor in the trucks. I know there some problem with oiled filters carrying the oil into sensor and setting check engine lights or causing some performance problems with many make of vehicles. Thanks

most of the cone style filters are oil-less, with exception to the volant powercore filter ( i believe those are oiled) but the regular volant is oil-less. just search the product websites they will say right on it oil or oil-less. if you did get a oiled filter intake you should be fine with the ait sensor if oiled right.

Yeah they are available, in increasing numbers every year. It's probably the up & coming technology and it's all we'll see in a few years. I have an oiled K&N that's only got about 35k on it's 1,000,000 mile expected life, but I can see myself replacing it with an Amsoil or AFE or Trueflow oil-tree one at some point.

I did some searching here and on other sites and I still dont find the answers, they talked about intakes but in the filter them self. I just know that the chevys mostly have the problem of coating up the mass and the wire over heats and burns out and your looking at a couple bucks to fix it. Im trying to aviod this with a good intake system, Im going to look into the afe and volant I find was oiled and the volant powercore was not but dont fit my 4.7, thanks for your help Im looking in to it now.

Oil issues affect only vehicles that use a MAF sensor. Dodge products are MAP-based so there's no delicate sensor to worry about. I guess you could foul the intake temp sensor but you'd have to pour like a quart of oil into the intake.

Oiled filter issues are overhyped anyway. I've run K&N's on all my vehicles since 1992 without a single problem. Seven of those cars have been turbo Mitsubishi products and I never saw a MAF issue. As long as the filter isn't baptized in oil there isn't anything to worry about.

I have had one in my mustang for about 150K now and have never fouled the MAF and in intake tubing is dirt/oil free. I had one in my 01 F150 and never had MAF problems either.
I now have one in my 08 Ram.

Thanks, I been so busy working 7 days a week, I havent had time to look at my truck and see if it had a mas sensor. My 90 eclipse gst had a k&n and no problems but I know that the filter wasnt going to that big as compared to the new ram.

I had K&N on most of my cars. Installed right from the box. Not once have I had any kind of problem or "slime" build up like the competitors claim you get. You only have those problems If you over oil them when you clean them
