Default Too many mods?

I have a question. At what point will mods begin to be useless? I have read the threads which outline what can be done. I enjoy wrenching on my truck, but at what point do the numbers such as HP, MPG plateau? If I gain, say, 1 mpg per upgrade, (power wire, K&N Filter, Underdrive pulley, headers), certainly, the motor just will not perform past a certain point making some upgrades useless. I want to spend my money on the right mods. Some of you will think this is insane and criticize my ramblings, but I do enjoy my truck and want it to perform its best.

There comes to a point that you have to figure how long it will take the mods to pay for themselves and if it's worth it.

1 mile per gallon @ ~18 MPG will take awhile.

Say you spent $1000 on mods and at $2.00 per gallon gas only saving 1 mpg...... Well you get my point.

You asked a question that may not have an answer.
If it is a monetary payback question, then the answer is as jankerson said you have to calculate for each one.
If it's because you like to tinker and customize, then it will NEVER pay back other than in personal gratification....and that has no boundaries.

Your point is well taken. I enjoy working on my truck a lot. Which is why I spent $300 on an underdrive pulley lately. I want to be shrewd about where my money goes.

for me it's all about making myself happpy...and knowing my vehicle is a little further than from what most people have (stock).

money-wise...i can't say it was "worth" it monetarily, but i wouldn't change anything....aesthetic OR performance.

power wire 40
posi/456 1100
wheels 600
tints 100
intake 80
exhaust/muffler 350ish
tonneau 250
step bars 200
decals 60
middle console...just materials, i did it myself
headers 300
changing muffler again 70ish
ngk plugs 60
stupid rain vent things 80

and im gonna keep them coming. prolly gonna buy a chip or something...i find it ridiculously fun. i want a rollpan with a light bar on the back (once that bumper busts out enough from a previous incident).

the only limit on how much power the motor can produce is how much fuel you can get to the motor, so as long as the mod makes it easier to move air/fuel it will help.

Everyone has their own thing. For me it's mainly functionality...tonneau cover, step bars, perhaps a stereo upgrade, those kind of things.
Perhaps a few mods for more power as long as it yields the same or better mileage.
But past that it's a truck, a daily commuter and a workhorse on those occasions it's needed.
But I salute those who go crazy....it's a personal thing.

i think ive about hit the point of stopping as far as performance mods go, at least until somebody comes out with a real tuner.

btw i e-mailed superchips a week or two ago, and they said they aren't planning on coming out with anything for the 3.7

I still want to get a lifting console, but I'm hopefully gonna put my interior guys Challenger on ebay soon, maybe i can trade some of the upholstery work for that

I know that performance mods can eventually hit a wall, but asthetic mods can go on forever. Eventually I want to upgrade my interior. I guess we are only limited by our creativity at that point.

MAKE IT YOURELF. I, too, had that stupid brick center console, BUT, if u open it, it's actually two pieaces just like the flip-open ones...but i guess found it was cheaper to just wrap the whole thing in fabric, than provide hinges and latches in the st models. but yea, i tore that bitch open and did it. i have a diy with pics and all on here.
