Question 02 2500 limited sllip rear end noise

Hi, the old girl might be letting me down. Ever since I got the truck, when one wheel broke loose i'd get a queer rachiting sound from the rear end! I haven't thought about it until last week plowing snow and I have her booked into the shop tomorrow. My previose GM's would do this and after a fluid change with the ltd slip additive they would work great. Think i'll get that lucky tomorrow? The only time it makes that noise is when the ***-end gets loose, so it would have to be the limited slip? Thanks for the input - Jason

I would say that a fluid change and the additive would be all you need. My Grand Cherokee Overland started making a horrific ratcheting sound during turns a couple of months ago. Happened all of the sudden so I figured the diff was shot. Nope! Thank goodness a change of the fluids and a 4 oz. bottle of additive and within about 5 miles of driving it quieted right down...
