Default Why Can't I find Mobil 1 5w20?

I have looked low and high but have not found Mobil 1 5x20. I was originally going to switch to Ryal Purple but opted against it as Ihave used Modil 1 for the past 2 years without any problem. I was really sold on not making the switch when someone mentioned that the oil was the same coming in as it was coming out, that was the clincher. After a little more thought I figured why mess with success. Anyway, I can't find it anywhere on the internet to buy in bulk now. Not sure if this is your regular Christmas present, a damn good one at that, bu is seems like not that many people are going to get a case of Mobil 1 for Christmas. Any help locating some? I am looking at doing an oil change next week before I make a trip to New York for New Years.

There's a shortage. just throw some 0w-20 in. It's cold enough in VA for that and your mds will still be funcionable

Yea, supposedly Mobil shut down production for like a month. Depends on where you are as to what you can get. While in Ga the last three weeks, a buddy went looking for 10w-30 for his Cheby Z71 and couldn't get it anywhere, but Wally-World was well stocked in both 5w-20 & 5w-30.
I stopped in to Wal-Mart today in central Fl. to pick up a case of clays to skeet shoot with a friend and intentionally went down the oil aisle. They had 10w-30, 10w-40 and 20w-50 out the a$$, but no 5w-20 or 5w-30 to be had...

You could check out your local Carquest. Their house labeled full syn is only $3-something a quart. It's manufactured by Ashland Oil Co, so it should be comparable to Valv Full Syn.

i believe its the mid east coast thats hit. the local advanced auto has been out for some time and said they arent expecting any for a little while. i ended up just puttin castrol gtx or w/e in it. to me its all the same unless its mobil 1 or some high end racing oil. i change mine enough that the castrol should do just fine till spring, when i change it again
