I would never remove my spare to make an exhaust work regardless. I don't think there will be any issue's there, but it will be close to the tire. The problem lies if he has a factory or aftermarket tow hitch. I think most aftermarket tow hitches are going to cause a problem because they are bulky down low and not high and recessed like the factory one. Also, split duals create less flow and mor turbulence and done't help with power gains over stock at all. A single side exit aftermarket catback will yield better results over a dual split. However, the dual split may sound a little louder but the deepness will be very close.

a shop will custom bend it around the spare tire with no problems. just go to a shop and tell them what you want and they will do it. the best thing you can do to these trucks when doing exhaust is get rid of the stock y-pipe and get a 2.5 in/3 out y-pipe (only $27 for magnaflowy-pipe from moesperformance.com and autoanything.com)..

I have duals exit straight out the back and no problems. I have the factory hitch. I kept the stock exhaust up to the muffler, put a magnaflow SI/DO and split it off.
