i was faced with the same question earlier this month. i ended up with the toyos. the thing that helped me make my decision was the life of the tread. ive heard from numerous sources that the toyos last a lot longer.
ive got a couple thousand miles on them so far (made a trip back home for the holidays) and they perform wonderfully. hit some pretty heavy rain, and some freezing rain going over the grapevine... and i thought to myself "rain? what rain?" they also did pretty well on the gravel/muddy roads on my inlaws property.

I had the toyo a/t on my old Dakota and thought they wore very fast, but were still a decent tire on snow and mud.
When I got my Ram I got nitto terra grapplers and they handled way better but got rid of them too fast to notice any wearing. And I have heard the same about nitto's wearing fast, but I have had the grapplers for 40,000+ miles and they are still going. I rotate them every 3,000 miles which helps prolong the life of any tire so IMO go with the ones you think will be best for you.

I've only heard like one maybe two people ever say that Toyo's wear fast (and you know I'm not biased, because you know what my preferred brand is).
You are also getting very good wear out of the Nitto Mud Grapplers compared to most. I know a set of brothers, with deeper pockets than mine (or should I say wealthier parents) who put about 20k miles a year on their trucks and get a new set of Mud Grapplers right before every hunting season. And I've seen the ones that come off - about slicks!
Not that I doubt a word you say, but the law of averages say a Toyo A/T outlasts a Nitto A/T and the same holds true of their M/T tires. Although a Toyo M/T can't touch a Nitto Mud Grappler off road if the Nitto has good tread. Nope, my experience is that only a Bogger or Baja Claw can give a significant advantage over your MGs in the slop...

I think that a lot of the reason my Grapplers have lasted me so long is because a lot of my driving is in dirt roads. Now that I am moving to the big city we will have to see how fast the rest of them wears out.
Everybody 'oughtta know my feelings on Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepeks by now. They are sister companies, hell for years they shared the same web site. Since Cooper bought them out, they treat them like two separate brands, but they are the same company...
