It all comes down to personal opinion... IMO I think stacks on anything but a big rig is ignorant. It would be like putting a bow tie on your grill to replace your Dodge emblem... just embarrassing...

I look at it this way, its your truck! Are you modding it for other people or for you? Years ago my old neighbor had a mid 70's chev with em. My opinion: it wasent that bad. I wouldnt do it to MY truck but...it wasent MY truck. Just as an idea of what he did: he got sidepipes and strung em up inside the box rather than just a smooth stainless tube. Bottom line: its YOUR truck, do what YOU want. As long as you're happy thats all that matters.

My father actually put a set on a truck he had when I was like 5 or 6 years old, in the mid 70's. Was a Ford F250, big V8 gasser, step side. Looked great, but that was in the days when a truck was a truck, and the only difference between a diesel and gasser was the engine.
Now 1500s are mommy-type SUVs with beds. Maybe you could get away with it on a 2500, but personally, I think it's something ONLY for the diesel guys to do.

But that's just my opinion, that's basically what you asked for was opinions. Semigod is 100% correct, it's your truck, your mod money, do what you want to it, no matter what anyone else thinks or says.

But they'll still laugh at you...

Our local Chevy mechanic runs a 75 Chevy around with stacks on it. Pretty ridiculous.

I think the only trucks that can get away with stacks are diesels with a full turboback system and a louder BOV
