Default MPG Improvments for a 2003 1500 Hemi 5.7

Anyone find some good improvements/mods to help the mpg? Give me some ideas...I'm about to drive my truck from NY to Utah and I could use all the help I can get!

THANKS!

Just the basics, man. Fresh tune-up, new filters, synthetic fluids anywhere you can, tires properly inflated, no lead footin'. That kind of stuff always works best.
The after market mods that boast huge MPG gains never amount to a hill of beans, and any legitimate mods that give you some gains will take well more than the life of the truck before you save enough in gas to pay for the mod...
I don't even recommend a tuner for only MPG gains, even with a Superchips and their new, Mileage XS tune, you'll see only a 1-2 mpg gain. It'll take forever to justify the $350 for the tuner if you are only interested in mpg's.
Now if you wanted a tuner for the other benefits, then yes, the slight MPG gains you'll see are just gravy.
I am sure I'd see a significant MPG gain with most of my performance mods if I didn't also lift the truck, go with 35" tires and add over 1000# of weight to the beast. But if I'da spent the $2k of so on CAI, Tuner, LT Headers, etc, etc. for mileage gains alone, someone should stick me in a padded room with one of those jackets on...
