Bullsh*t. Factory alarms suck ballz. They have no range and intermittently work, plus they cost a fortune.
I bought an alarm that is VSS sepcific from http://www.autoalarmpro.com/company_sales_policy
They pre-wire everything and program everything. Just make sure you get the bypass kit. It's so friggin easy. It took me 3hours beginning to end taking my time making sure the wires were perfect.
I then bought a key off Ebay that was Sentry equipt but didn't have the lock/unlock features on it for $25 shipped. Had it cut for $1 at local parts store. Now I can have my 2-way paging remote and a smaller key. I purchased the SRT-9000 and got the free telematics kit. I can unlock the truck from my phone anywhere in the world.

Also, with my alarm, I can use my factory key fobb as normal. Most set-ups render your factory fobb useless, however the bypass interface for the Chrysler vehicles is new age and allows it.
