I had the chance to buy a 2007 2500 QCLB hemi slt 4x4 for 27,000 brand new with like 30 miles on it, the dealer couldnt sell it. if i wasnt such an ******* i should have chewed the dealer down on it and sucked it up and paid for the heavy duty equipment. I love my 04 but ive had enough go wrong with it to start to become frustrated, but ive always wanted a dodge since i was little and I really do love the truck. but what can you do, in a year or two ill be looking for a mason dump.

Well, initially - while still driving a Jeep Liberty - I had my sights set on a CTD. I really wanted to replace the one I lost in a crash and burn marriage and bankruptcy a few years back. But, in reality, then I needed the CTD as I/we had horses and some land. Now, I don't actually even need a truck, but that isn't really the point is it!

To do it all over once again, I hopefully would have gone for a 2500 vs a 1500; just in case I ever really needed to work it. But, at the time, my emotions won me over. This truck - an 06, 1500 RCLB 4X4 Hemi dressed all in Black simply called out to me. I even drove right by the lot it was on, but turned around and came back. I had to have it and ... I got it.

So, while I think about having a CTD or merely an HD 2500 instead, I get a thrill every single time I look at or crawl into this baby to take it out. Even when gas was so very high, and I am sure it will soon be back there again, I looked for excuses to get in and drive!

It was NEVER going to be other than a Full Size Dodge Ram and the Hemi was just icing on the cake; even with the much maligned MDS system. I love my baby!!! And ... I am SURE I would do it all over again!

I only wish I got a long bed. Other than that it's been a good truck for what I do to it.

This was my very first new vehicle. I shopped around and decided on the Dodge with a Hemi to haul my camper and pull my boat. I got a great deal with incentives and by negotiating. About $8K less than what I could have got CTD for. The way I figured it, it would have taken me 10 years to pay for the difference on the CTD (mileage better, fuel higher) versus the Hemi. In addition, I got the lifetime warranty (for what that is worth) on the Hemi, it was not offereed on the CTD. If I had to do it again, I would. I would however, like to try the diesel for the sheer torque.

I don't regret ordering my 06 2500 reg cab SLT 4x4 hemi with the 6sp, I did the best I could with my budget and all the information gained here.

I wish to go forward, not back in time.

Yup. Huge discount off the sticker, 345hp with 20mpg on the highway, lifetime warranty (unless Chysler bites the dust!). Only regrets are that I didn't spend the $$$ up front on a LSD, tow pkg, and electric rear window.
