if you had it to do over again would you..
Although I love my truck and have had no problems at all with it, I was on the fence as to whether to purchase a new '04 CTD QCSB 4x4 or the Hemi. I really wanted the CTD and had just sold my business for a decent amount of money and was in a position to get the CTD.
However the CTD, which had a sticker price of about $9k over the loaded Laramie Hemi turned out to be $18k more in reality! This was because none of the three dealers I visited would knock a dime off the CTD. The Hemi, by comparison, had a $4500 rebate + another $1500 if you financed with Chrysler (I was not going to finance, but the minimum was $5k to qualify for the rebate, so I figured I'd just finance that to save the extra $1500). Coupled with the $6k in rebates, I was able to talk the dealer down another $3k. This totaled $9k off the sticker, add the $9k that the CTD stickered and you got an $18k difference in a vehicle that should only cost half that above the Hemi.
No way I was paying $18k more for the CTD, so I got the loaded Laramie Hemi!
Of course there was no way I could know that a couple of years later both of my parents would become seriously ill and I'd have to stop working altogether to take care of them. Now that my step dad has passed and my mom's cancer is in remission, I can start to look for work after a roughly 2 year hiatus. So what happens? The economy is in the sh*tter and I can't find any work beyond a few consulting gigs here & there.
I don't know if I'll ever be in a position financially to get a brand new CTD (the vehicle I've wanted since I was a teenager), so in hindsight, I wish I had ponied up and got the CTD. I only put about 8k miles a year on my truck so I could have conceivably gotten 20 years or more out of that truck...

My name says it all...
However, I would have went back in time and told myself to stay clear of stealerships. They brake things and dont own up to it or just rip you off.
Also I went to the stealer and they drained my battery; I had to pay for a new one 185.00 and they want 250.00 labor to replace a wheel speed sensor on my differential. Ive read it takes about 15 minutes dilly dallying around and its super easy to change. Anybody ever done this before?

oh god yes, in a heart beat. The truck is nice dont get me wrong, i just got antsy and screwed on my truck. id much rather be driving my 02 accord at 200/monthly payments than this 4.7 05 at 434/monthly. they only gave me 2k for my car. i ended up paying way too much for the truck, im ashamed to say how much. but if i had just thought ahead i would of saved up keep the car through training and buy my new camaro next year. But now its gonna be a little harder, also i wish i would have done more research on the 4.7/5.7/ctd

if i could go back i would have bought one from the get go because i dropped about 4k in my mustang and if i had done that to my truck instead it would be a ride of the year truck by now but it gave me a new project to work on
