LOL... If it has WIRES and an aluminum intake manifold then its a 5.9L! ANYONE who tells you its a 4.7L should be disregarded and ignored... Im not trying to be mean... but the fact is the 4.7L NEVER came with an aluminum intake and it has ALWAYS had coil on plug.
There are NO factory aluminum intake manifolds available for the 4.7L engine. NONE... they where NEVER made... This is the first HUGE clue that its a 5.9L. The plug wires are another HUGE clue that its a 5.9L.
Your 4.7L engine is different from his because he has a 5.9L and you have a 4.7L! The service records do NOT indicate what he has... its clearly a TYPO... LOOK AT THE ENGINE! I can type on a piece of paper and call your 4.7L a 426HEMI... but that will not turn your 4.7L into a 426HEMI at the end of the day it will still be a 287MAGNUM.
Here is a 5.9L in a DAKOTA.... I'm sure it looks VERY similar to your freinds engine.

the vin is invaled as per chryslers site 1E7HU18N32J185132 but the 8th post is n and on a 2002 ram 1500 n is a 4.7
