Default Take off both resignators ????

I have a 07 ram with the hemi. I am getting a flowmaster put on and when I talked to the guy he asked if I wanted both resignators off. What should I do ? He said with both off it would be louder but sound kinda funny when it drops to 4 cyl. How much louder is it and which one sounds better

Flowmaster will have interior drone no matter what you do, but as far as the MDS mode, yes with the resonators removed, you will hear a helicotper type sound when it kicks in mds. It is very annoying take my word. It's an ear F*ck noise. Screws you all up. Atleast it did for me. My ears are sensitive to specific frequencies. I removed my resonator when I installed my Magnaflow catback. I bought a handheld tuner to turn off the MDS. No more helicopter sound. Shifts much better too. Better mpg's as well.

Leave one of the resonators on. I only had one resonator and one muffler on my '08

Yeah, forget the Flowmaster and get a Magnaflow.

Our 08's only have the rear resonator.

A resonator is a frequency pipe but still muffles the sound as a muffler would.
I would recommend getting the muffler installed in place of your current muffler and if your not satidfied then remove the resonator, but I gotta tell you. If there weren't tuners that turned off the MDS, I would have put my resonator back on regardless of exhaust tone. It was just absolutely annoying. for the sound in/out of MDS constantly.

I did figure out why the rpm jumps about 300 in OD when in MDS. It partially unlocks the torque converter. That sounds like alot of where on the lock-up clutch to me. I'm going to make my round trip to work tomorrow in tow/haul to verify and compare mileage.

I wish I had read this post earlier. Anyhow, I had a flowmaster installed the other day and that sound w/o the resonator is awful. Its sounds like **** when the mds kicks in. In my own opinion I had more power, and it drove better before, I'm thinking about getting me the stock set up it came with and just calling it a day.
What type of tuners are out there to turn off the mds? and if I was to go back to stock, where is a good place to find the stock set up for cheap?
