Default Build Sheet Question

Here are a couple of items from my build sheet. A couple of questions I have are...

Does Heavy Duty mean heavy duty or just something they write in because it is not 2wd and, does LD mean Limited Slip?

What do I really have here, a heavy half ton?

4-Spd. Automatic 46RE Transmission
> Lock-Up Torque Converter
> Man Shift-on-the-Fly Transfer Case
> 205MM HD Front Axle
> 3.55 Axle Ratio
> Corporate 9.25 LD Rear Axle
Auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler
> Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
> Front Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
> Rear Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
> Front Stabilizer Bar
> Class IV Receiver Hitch

Seeing that you came with a class IV hitch on a 1500 from the factory, I'd say you may have a beefier truck than the standard 1500.

I think mine says the same thing. I perceived LD to be Light Duty, as in not the huge 10.5" that the 2500's have.

My truck also has the factory class IV hitch, oil cooler, and engine cooling. Maybe the heavy duty shocks and cooling come as part of a tow package. I've seen that before on other vehicles.

mine has the same thing and it's not a heavy half.I think heavy half means that its a half ton truck with 3/4 ton truck running gear

Mine has all that HD stuff and the LD axle , no hitch and it's a wimpy 6 cyl 2 wheel drive.
They call that marketing.

Yea, mine has that too. It's just something so you can say "wow, heavy duty! That's amazing!"
It can't really be that heavy duty unless your frame can handle it.
And if you have the limited slip, mine says anti-slip on it.

DGES All 5-Speed Automatic Transmissions
DGQ 5-Spd
Automatic 545RFE Transmission
DHAP Lock-Up Torque Converter
DH5 Elec Shift-on-the-Fly P/Time T/Case
DJMS 205MM HD Front Axle
DMH 3.92 Axle Ratio
DRBS Corporate 9.25 LD Rear Axle
DSA Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
NMCP Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
NZDP Next Generation Engine Controller
SFBS
Front Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers
SGBS Rear Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers

Those are all my HD things the build sheet claims to have.

Yea, but when you think about it, you kinda wonder why they would give you all of those HD things, then the LD axle. You'd think they'd stick to some sort of a pattern.

9.25LD corporate rearend is the same 9.25 that all 1500's have.
Mine has a Class IV hitch as well.

Tow package comes with heavy duty cooling, tranny cooler and class IV hitch,

You do not have a LS rearend or it wouls be listed as Anti-spin differential.

Sorry to hear about the 3.55 gears. 3.92 are much better it seems, for towing and power.
