Haha, when it happens its durring the day. There would be no way in hell I wouldn't see these bad boys at night. And it only happens when I walk away from the front end. Mainly because the light-bulb in my switch burned out.

so just to confirm it sounds like with the 08 there is not a "switched" power source available on when the high beams go on so my only real option is to hard wire the switch so I can turn on at anytime.

My tiny little blue LED light that comes on when I flip the switch is SO freakin bright in itself. There's no way to not notice that it's on unless the sun is shining right on it.
And you catch it everytime when you walk away from the front because your the kind of guy I see that as he's walking into the Auto parts store, your the guy that trips over the curb because you keep looking and checkin out your ride....lol Anyone that does that should get a frame for their livingroom.......I have one...lmao j/k

Sorry Mike, I wish I could help you out more.

i wired mine into the parking light with a switch. so everytime i turn the switch to the lights on, they come on or i can do it manually too. i like having both ways. i wired mine to the parking light fuse. (i actually took the fuse box top apart and wired it under neath and used t-splices to tap into the wire) so red goes to battery, black goes to lights, blue ground ( from lights, relay and switch),yellow from switch to relay, and green from switch to parking light 12v source (or any 12v source).

just try using quick splices into each hot wire to figure out which one is switched. there is a switched 12v for the hibeams there has to be, just got to figure out which one it is. im pretty sure the 2008s use the same bulbs as the 06 (h13/9008).

well I went ahead and finished the wiring last night just going directly to the battery for the switched source. I double-checked the power at the headlight using a volt meter and there is not a "switched" high beam source as it appears the light must illuminate differently when two power sources are connected versus one. When in low beam mode there are two active positive wires, in high beam mode there is only a single positive wire which is one of the two that was active in low beam mode.

Now I just need to aim the lights as my "driving test" finds I am lighting up the top of the trees
