thanks for the advise, u have save me a few bucks. my engine is great, just has high miles 240,000km, just thought it was a good way to avoid maintenance and get a new motor, but now that u have put it into perspective for me I think I am better off just to do the maintenance when my truck needs it.

Definately! Your better off not spending money if something isn't broke. You could cause more problems than it's worth let alone spending all the extra money.

I have heard of many 4.7L's runing with over 200kmi on them. The only main issue they have had is coolant channels too close to the cylinders wearing through the sleeves. Other than that, they are suppose to be strong runners. You have about 150kmi in US conversion which isn't that bad.

I would just do some maintenance like change the plugs, wires and fluids including a coolant flush! Just don't use chemicals to flush the coolant system, just water.
