Ok I want a dual exhuast for my 07 hemi and I love flowmaster, but I've heard flowmaster sounds like crap with the mds what do you guys think I should get and do you have video clips and please specify 1 or no resinators.

 

From what ive read flowmasters are restrictive and flow poorly. I personally have a SI/DO magnaflow and removed the rear resonator. Sounds good to me. It does drone a bit in the cab but i dont think you are going to get away from that swapping mufflers.

 

do you have a sound clip and how does it sound with the mds on, so you only took off one resinator not both ? also did you have your put on custom or order a kit if you did the kit where is the cheapest place and with the kit you can keep the spare tire right

 

I do not have a sound clip, sorry. On the highway when MDS kicks in, it was irritating at first but i got used to it and just turn the radio up, problem solved. At least for me. I ordered a muffler off ebay for 100 bucks shipped to my door and had a local muffler shop bend up and install the new setup. I simply swapped from the muffler back and there is only 1 resonator after the muffler. Here is the exact muffler i bought, just from a different seller.

ok I just called a local shop and they said that the magnaflow is much louder than shock is that true

 

Stock is quiet, i couldnt hear my truck running with the stock muffler on so yea its louder. Not overbearing but nice, throaty and doesnt shudder windows driving by houses. I love the sound of my truck and there are plenty of mufflers much louder than mine. Also, i forgot to add, i have my pipes coming out the back of my truck and the spare sits just fine.

 

so what does it sound like when the mds is on and how loud is it compared to these guys with flowmasters thats what I was gonna get but I was told when you have a flowmaster and the mds kicks on it sounds like a helocopter

 

Like i said, im used to MDS now so it doesnt bother me. It really does come down to personal preference. Flowmaster is restrictive so id avoid that muffler. My personal opinion is magnaflow is just the right sound. Not too loud but you know im coming when i drop the hammer.

 

I have a magnaflow 14" muffler. the smaller it is, the louder. and it sounds pretty good. and its not too loud that you cant talk while driving.

 

your not going to like the mds drone with exhaust at first but youll get used to it. if you want a little more performance get a programmer that disables the mds all together and you can get any muffler you want. also if your looking into doing a whole catback system i would suggest getting a new y-pipe because the stock y is so restrictive and a aftermarket magnaflow y-pipe is only $26. just my 2 cents.
ps i have a fm original 40 series on my truck and its very loud and very aggressive but i love it that way. sounds great to me. others dont like it but its not theres its mine. really ll up to personall preference. i see alot of guys that like the thrush,aeroturbine at3030 and even cherrybomb extreme mufflers too. look around theres plenty of nice mufflers other than fm and magnaflow.
