what kinda muffler ?????
As nickahern said, there are plenty of mufflers out there. Magnaflow is prolly the most popular. FM being restrictive, i would assume you will see a reduction in milage. Either way, you drive a brick not a prius. Milage shouldnt be an issue with that tank.
Drone is basically the noise in the cab from the muffler/MDS

check out http://www.FloPro.com. They have a comparable model to the Magnaflow satin muffler, and it's nearly half the price. Plus, they have sound clips.
I just bought a 3" SI/SI 5x11x22 stainless muffler for $65 shipped off of ebay.

I have the Flowmaster system and I love it, it was just a little too loud for me at first but I now love it. They Dyno tuned it for the 5.7 and the power gains are there. I have friends that got other exhaust systems, one got the magnaflow and the other got the Gibson and they now both have the Flowmaster systems. On the dyno I did get an increse in power but I also did the throttle body, CAI and SuperChips tuner all at the same time so I only did one pull on the dyno after adding the stuff all with the performance tune and after the exhaust I saw 14 HP at the wheels.
The sound your going to get will differ by system so you just have choose which one you like better. As for the MDS I agree with Nick, get a tuner and disable it, it sounds really bad! I do have a 05 with out the MDS but my neighbor has it and disabled it quickly!!
Just my 2Cents!

Magnaflow is stainless and won't rot off in 5 years like the Flowmaster will. Been there done that on my F150. Never again.
Here is a sound clip of my 5.0 Mustang with a pair of high flow converters and a pair of Magnaflows. They are the shorter version like the 14". The 24 will be a little quieter. I had the 14" on my 5.4L F150 and it sounded good without being too loud, but I would run the 24" with MDS.

i keep seeing people say the fm will rot out. i have had mine for almost 3 years now without even a spot of rust on it and i live in MA with salty road winters and all types of inclimate weather. maybe im just lucky, but it is a quality muffler if you ask me. i have had others in my day and decided to go the fm route this time. to each his own. its all personal preference. like others say go on to YOUTUBE.COM and type in hemi ram exhaust. youll find thousands of sound clips.
you want it loud or just a low grumble? if you go magnaflow and other muffler manufacturers get the smallest length muff for deepest/loudest tone, fm get smaller series number for louder ( except do not get the 10 series for these rams it sounds very bad)

Any straight-through muffler like magnaflow will give you the best performance...it's basically a straight pipe with packing around it. Any chambered muffler like flowmaster will be more restrictive but sound better to some...if you cut the top off a flowmaster it'll look like the floor plan to your house.
