New 2007 Ram MegaCab
I am looking at a small local dealer that still has a new 2007 Ram 1500 Mega Cab SLT 4X2 on his lot. It has never been titled and has about 30 miles on it. The build date on it was 4/07 so it has been sitting for nearly two years. It has a MSRP of about 35,000 on it.
I am really impressed by the vehicle. It has the 3.73 rear end. The tow rating that I noticed via Trailer Life is 7750 lbs. I tow a camper that is about 5500-6000 lbs fully loaded.
What are your thoughts? Is this a good match? What do you think would be a fair price to pay on this vehicle?
Thanks

I'm assuming since the MSRP was "only" $35k new, it's a Hemi and not a CTD. The 3.73 gearing in a gasser is gonna blow chunks towing 5-6k pounds. Get 'em down as low as you can and tell 'em you are only interested in the truck as a tow vehicle and make 'em put the factory 4.11 gears on it. They should be so willing to get that truck off their lot they'd do just about anything to make it the way you want/need it...

Same thing happened to me.
I bought my '06 Mega SLT in mid '07. Was stickered at $37, it was dropped in the ad to $26 and I walked out paying $24,500 and a drop in bedliner included. After that I had a '99 explorer w/ 150k miles that I traded in for an additional $2500 off of that.
Good Luck in the negotiations. You should be able to get a great price on that.
