Default a few Q's about RP

so i've decided to start switching over to RP, i still have a year and 3 months left under warranty so i will be sticking to the 3 months oil change schedule. i was going to wait but calculated that it would only cost me ~ $100 more for that time period to upgrade to the purple, using the 3 month change schedule. the front and rear dif. are due now too and i may also do the TC early ( 25 000K or 15 000M ) but leave the transmission for now, anyway. it's already had to go in once to replace the toque converter and pump and it may be leaking again, i don't want to give them any reason not to fix it.

with my truck i did an oil change after break in and switched to Mobil 1 at the first scheduled oil change, using Napa Gold ( wix ) filters.

my plan after warranty is to run the RP in my engine for 6 months ( ~ 7 500K or 4 500M ) but still change out the filter ( with a qt of new oil ) every 3 months. this may be a little overkill but will cost me less than doing quarterly changes with mobil 1. what do you think??

i'll use....

RP 5w20 for the engine
RP Max-Gear of proper spec. for the front and rear dif. ( no friction mod needed for LSD, right ? )
RP Max-ATF for the TC ( not 100% sure on this one )

i remember someone linking to the volumes need for these but can't find them now, can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

also can i use RP Max-ATF in the power steering reservoir or would you recommend the RP Max EZ??

any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance...........

Do it, I used Mobil 1 forever and switched to RP about a year and a half ago. Best move I ever made.

did you just do the motor oil or drive train too???

if you did the drive train, what did you use in the transfer case?? my manual calls for mopar ATF+4, so i'm assuming i can use the RP max ATF.

any thoughts???

i haven't been able to do any real MPG comparisons yet because i do snow removal and leave the truck idling for up to an hour at a time ( you would too at -30C ( -22F )) while i'm loading trucks or clearing a lot but..............

i have been watching the RPM and there is absolutely no doubt that at 100KPH ( 62MPH ) without MDS there is between a 150 - 200 RPM decrease, this drops to about 100RPM difference when MDS is engaged.

i can't wait for it warm up a bit more so i can do the TC and dif's

i'll post my real calculated numbers when i get a realistic chance to compare them.
