2WD-Lo with NV-271?
My '08 2500 QC 4x4 has (I believe) an NV-271 transfer case. The dash control is "2WD", "4WD-Lock" and "4WD-Lo".
Is it possible to get 2WD-Lo with just an electronic modification, or is 2WD-Hi the only possibility?
Thanks

if you wanted to get 2wd low you would have to take out your front drive shaft.
why may i ask would you want 2wd low? when my front axle was broke on my durango i would put it down in 4low (my front driveshafts were out) and do burnouts.
i wouldnt suggest doing this. if its a mod you want for offroading??? i would suggest a selectable locker in the rearend

Although I am far from an expert on this topic do these truck not have automatically locking electric front hubs? If there was a way to interrupt the hubs from locking then there in theory should be a way to get 2wd low range. I'm curious on the topic now that it has been brought up I know you could do it on previous GM trucks but as for a Dodge...
Well I figured they would have some sort of mechanism to disconnect the front axle from the driveshaft to the T case. I'm not sure how the dodges work but on other 4x4's the front driveshaft will not spin while driving indicating some sort of disconnect. sorry for my pathetic descriptions.
The 2500 is a solid front axle. "No specific use" at the moment, but in the past I have used 2-Lo for mega-torque for something like pulling stumps or moving something big. Not off-road per se, but not for on-road either.
I need to look and if it is using automatic hubs or an axle disconnect. If it's an electrical axle disconnect, things could be really easy.

Looks like no axle-disconnect on the 2500. I let the truck roll forward and the front drive-shaft turned, and I also don't see any bumps on the axle housing.
For $2K I can do a manual-hub conversion:

It's not THAT important to me )
