on my 2008 I did the direct wire running down the driver side A-Pillar and tapped into power under the driver's seat. It was just a matter of finding a power line that was only hot when the truck was running. The Cig lighter was my first choice but i couldn't figure out how to get the bezel off to reach the Cig lighter

That's a good question....How do you get the bezel off to get at the lighter?? I tapped in elsewhere because I couldn't get at the back of the lighter.

If I remember right, there is one screw by the little bag hanging thing, where the airbag switch is on regular cabs. once that screw is out, just pull on the bezel.

use some sense of course, but you probably won't break anything as long as you pull straight out. i just yank mine outwithout thinking twice about it.

Yeah I know how to do it. I have hard wired every car that I have owned because I don't like the wires hanging around. I can tuck it in the headliner and I like the neat look. I just didn't know if there was a power source/fuse block under the dash somewhere.

NOPE!! Everything is under the hood. You have to piggy back if you want to stay in the cab.

Do you have the auto dimming mirror? I wired mine into the plug on the back. Only powered with key on.
I now have t tint strip across the windshield, so it can not bee seen from outside.
