Default Custom Heads back to Magnaflow

Curious what gains i can get from making a custom set of headers. I've decided not to put the cummins in my shortbox single cab im going in a diff direction so i just wanna put some time into the v6 queen.

Underneath inspected my magnaflow catback system i noticed where the manifold meets the y pipe its pinched REALLY tight like im talking probally from 2 1/4 down to 1 1/4 inch wide from each side into the Y pipe. Im curious if i cut out and remove that crushed Y pipe if the gain would be worth the time.

anyone buy headers and a better Y pipe? Any Gains?

i have headers. they were only 300 from airram and they're stainless too.

amazing gains in lowend torque. also, that reduction you're talking about probably isn't a big deal. 2 1/2 is already more than what we need...with a little v6 in there. i have the stock system between the headers and the entrance of the muffler.

but yea, get some header from airram...he's a member here...and runs airram.com they're only 300 shipped...can't beat it for some stainless steel jba headers. hell, maybe tey're cheaper nwo if some other company's got some for our trucks too.

Did you have to modify your stock system at all to match up with the jba headers you got derrick?

nope, bolted right in there...donuts mounted right in. simple when it comes to the idea of "fitment" but pain in the a$$ when it comes to getting your damn hands in there to do anything.

i would imagine that if you increased the size of the exhaust you'd run into problems with little to no back pressure and yea thats a lot of power loss trust me lol
