Default Door wind leaking at highway speeds

I am wondering if this is an inherent issue withe the 3rd gen cabs, since Dodge changed them this year. I get air leakage around the top of the door on my 2006 2500 w/ 5.9l, my son owns a 2005 1500 same issue.

Is ther a fix from Dodge I am unaware of ? I really do not want to change the seals they are fine and the amount of air stops with very little pull inward on the door at the top.

hmmm, i dont have this issue with the dodge but my moms S-10 has wind leakage and when its raining it leaks inside..only when doing 60+ slower speeds its fine and the seal looks good...the only thing i could see doing is replaceing with a thicker seal? or talk to the stealership but there prolly gonna want $$$

Above 80-85 (I don't want to hear it...) the windows start to pull away from the seals. If you crank the Infinity stereo up, you don't even hear it!

Yes, there is a TSB on them from '03 through '06 I believe, they replace the faulty door seals, many people have had to have it done. It's free if you are within your 3/36 bumper to bumper. The dealers see it so much they often don't even schedule to diagnose it, just schedule you & order the parts if not in stock. Should have been a full recall IMO, but we all know how Chrysler is about that stuff (ie: dash cracks, C-Clips, etc., etc...)

If it is the weather stripping you can find the spot that is leaking fairly easily and then I believe they make a tape/seal that you can add on to your current weather stripping/door jam that will take care of the leak. I had to do it to a few times to my older vehicles (that were 25-30+ years old not on my ram) but for them I just replaced the weather stripping cause it was completely rotted in some areas where an additional seal wouldn't have helped at all...

Or do what Hammer said and see if they'll fix it for you...

just put some muscle into it and bend the top of the door inward toward the truck. make sure your windows are down. i have done this on my jeep xj and it worked great. just took some muscle. im going to do it to my ram as soon as it warms up. this global warming sure is cold.

I get the same thing at highway speeds, especially if there is a crosswind. I don't get any water leakage (at least I haven't noticed any yet). I should ask my dealer about it too.

My driverside leaks too but I think the seals are an innocent bystander. My windshield on the driverside is pushed in more which causes that front seal to be lower....so it doesn't contact the door like the pass. side.
