Default 08 Quad Cab V6 Mileage

I guys,

Some info for your perusal,

The following has been my mileage for my 08 Quad V6,

- Driving home from dealer ship (400 mile) = 22mpg
- 700-4500 Km : Around town = 17mpg, Hiway 22-24mpg (Better than my old Chev 4.3 by about 2 mpg)

* Truck would not start @ 4550m, towed to dealership, computer reprogrammed.
Truck now starts, revs to 1300 for 4min, drops to 900 for 2 min then to 750 ,mileage drops 3mpg no way I can get it back to 17.
Cold winter conditions, last 2 tanks have given me 9 and 9.5 mpg, with 3 min warmup time on each end.
Truck would not stat @ 5500km, towed to dealership, new battery.
All sensors check okay for mileage, dealer say noting he can do.

This truck is a joke for mileage, my old 350 Vortec would never get less then 12 mpg no matter how cold it got..

I'm not happy....

Dan

yea...we all know our v6's get the same gas mileage as the 4.7 =)

it's just that some of us chose to believe the epa estimate stickers in the windows of our newly purchased trucks, and some of us googled before buying it.

"dealer say noting he can do."
...and you left it at that?

you have a warranty. get it fixed...get a new truck and don't post again until you get one.

Something must be really screwed up for all that to be happening. Maybe it needs a new pcm/ecm. If you get that done and it still doesn't stay fixed it's time for them to get you a new truck since they can't fix the one you have.

the revving that you notice may just be the engine warming itself up if you have been starting in the cold, but that is some seriously bad mileage. I got 12 when I went to the drag strip in mine so you definitly have a serious problem.

My 05 auto normally gets around 17 .... + or - depending on driving conditions which is mostly in town stuff. Haven't done a highway trip with it yet (owned since mid Oct).
