Default CAI Funds up the Chimney

Well I had to use the cold air intake funds on the furnace today. That really sucks. How much difference will there be if I go with the air raid tube and not the complete CAI? I had all kinds of work lined up for the truck today but the cold and my furnace did not mix. $400 bucks for the part. I have an 06 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi and 4x4.

Not a whole lot...the main restriction is the "hemi hat" baffle. As far as filters go, cone filters do flow better because of their 360* surface area. But the stock airbox is pretty open and with a decent filter the difference between the two is minimal.

Here's a pic of mine

That's my next mod. No need for the whole thing.

If you want the louder sound and throttle response, save up for a K and N.

Or at least the sound . Airaid also sells their products in sections if you want...so you can buy just the MIT now and save up for their cone filter/heatshield. They also offer a heat shield that has a cold air funnel like the stock airbox...but it costs a little more. Check out their site.

I had an airaid on my s-10 and wasn't really impressed, i even got the TB spacer for the cool whistle sound and still didn't do it for me. so when i got my Ram i went with the Mopar CAI (wich is an AEM intake cause they were contracted buy Dodge to come up with one). Basically it is a Mopar licensed part and can't be blamed for any warranty conflict, that was one plus in its favor, i had a volant prior to that one that i was so disappointed with. I mean it look great installed, clean, crisp, like it was supposed to be there but the overall performance wasn't there. If your gonna do an intake keep it in the Mopar family..... i mean come on its got a Mopar sticker on it and everything lol
