power seat went out
I have the fancy power seats on the driver side, and the up/down, or first switch on the left, stopped performing its function. When you press it up or down, you can hear the motor kinda working, but the seat doesnt move. just wondering if anyone else had issues with it before i pull the seat out and start looking at it. also, the lumbar support strap broke inside the seat, anyone have to replace this?
all of the power seat functions work except one, and I can get to the lumbar strap, so i'd rather fix it if I can get the part for it. The seats are really comfortable, so I would rather not replace them.
Over 100,000 miles with these seats and not one creak, squeek or malfunction. The seat motor gets used a lot too.
Just had this exact problem fixed last week. Same seat, same button, same function. The dealer replaced the seat track bar. Part/Labor cost $521 but I had extended warranty coverage so it only cost me a $100 deductible.
When anything goes wrong on the Power Seats, they just replace the whole track bar assembly that includes the seat motors. It was a major operation. They have to disassemble both front seats and the center console. It took them (4) hours. The Drivers side motors are quite strong now but the Passenger side is noticeably weak. I imagine I'll have to replace the Passenger side track bar eventually.
