The stock exhaust had a little rumble but not enough Have you ever heard a ferd with the 5.4 or the V10? They sound like $hit stock.

I would be using the little guy, obviously the big muffler is, well giant.

One I took on my way out under a truck, might have to move your screen a bit or sit up in the light to see it clearly but on the left you see the spare tire, then the mufflers/resonator, then on the right you can see the mud flap and rear wheel, so obviously it's just before the tail pipe. Never seen any other trucks like these before,

usually the big huge muffler is right after the cab under teh bed then the resonator is at the end of the talpipe. i cant tell from the pick but it looks like its just the rear resonator. you can try throwing that little resonator on there and see what it sounds like, wont hurt anything. but id rather just throw a new performance muff on there and call it a day.

Yea, the little resonator was my plan, plus as you can see in that first pic, the big muffler is smashed and so the whole system was replaced under warranty.

My trucks exhaust is brand new, had it cut off at the manifold, then all straight pipe back then it goes into a muffler that came off an S197 (2005+) Mustang Cobra, It doesn't sound too bad, but I'm thinking that little resonator might flow better and give it more a deep diesel sound.

you could try it. so you had your cats taken off? cause the 2 cats are right after the exhaust manifold then the mid-pipes into the worst y-pipe ive ever seen on any vehicle from factory. then to 3 inch pipe back to the muffler. you dont like to spend money on you truck do you?? usually people junk the oem parts to get better performance gains because the stock stuff is very very restrictive. i mean if you want to try it out just throw it on see what it sounds like and call it a day. if it doesnt sound too good get a new performance muffler ( for under $100) and your good.

If you're talking about my truck you're mistaken, this is not for a dodge, It'd be going on a 1992 F-150 with the 300CI I6 motor, so it only has one manifold, and the exhaust coming off it is now a straight pipe with a muffler in the middle. So it's not that I don't like spending money on it, I just put Toyo Open Country A/T's on it. Not cheap...

i figured cause you were on the dodgeforum you were putting askign about a dodge ram. i didnt know you were talking about a 92 f-150. yeah why not jyst throw it on. no idea how it would sound. the dodges do sound sooooo much better with the resonators taken off and a new muff put in place though.

Yea, I was posting here since it's a mopar part and figured this place would have more knowledge than a ford forum.

Still waiting to find out if mopar wants it back for the warranty or not. It not I'm going to use it.

Also gutted an air pump and put it on my truck to get rid of my other one that would make a crap load of annoying noise, so much better now !

Really hoping to get that resonator and toss it into that pipe. My goal/hope is for a deep straight pipe sound, and hoping the resonator will help prevent some of the usual popping noise on deceleration/as the motor winds down.
