I brought this tread back from the dead:

Hammer: I know you have the air lift kit. I have heard that Firestone is the best bags out there. Whats your take on this? I know you said that you dont like how it bolts to the frame. Do you have a firestone part number or site where I can see what your talking about?

You can't run the Firestones with a lifted truck because of the way they mount to the leaf springs. With the Air Lifts, because the mount is different, you can use them with either a suspension or body lift.

The other issue I have with the Firestone's is the guy who ordered me my bags used to sell and install only the Firestones. A LOT of farmers run bags on their trucks.
He said he switched about 4 years before I got mine (about 3 years ago now) because guys were coming back to him after only 2-3 years with bag failures due to dry rot. I dunno if Firestone has resolved this or not.

Hammer, thanks! Thats good info to know. My truck is not lifted so I dont think I will have that problem however if you are saying that they are dry rotting then that could be a problem. I will probably look at the one that you have then.

Also, I may be moving in about 6 months and will be towing a 20ft flatbed trailer (heavy by itself) with my Honda Odyssey on it. Should I buy 1 or 2 extra bags "just in case"?

Maybe some guys with the Firestones will chime in, that'd be over 7 years ago this guy switched what he sold, so maybe they are better now. Although this came up a couple months ago and somebody said they had a Firestone bag fail that appeared to be rotted out, can't remember who it was though.
I don't like to bash one over another, but I also don't feel it's right not to warn someone when I've heard something about a product.

Roger that Hammer. Thanks again! It looks like the Air Lift is a much better product and installs easier too. Do you think, based on my scenerio above, that I should buy some extra bags?
