Attention all V6 owners!!!

twink. i had a long discussion at work tonight with a hotrod builder (pete sr). he has a 2000 z28 with a 409 stroker in it...an 8second car.
don't do that stupid turbo idea...it's actually a god awful idea. long story short, at highway speeds you'll be able to burn rubber, but the turbo lag on our small engines will be bat**** ridiculous...he says it'll prolly take 3 or 4 seconds to even start accelerating while it builds up pressure. you'll prolly **** up the rockers, you'll need to go twin cam, intercooler, oil cooler, etc, etc. screw that crap.
and whoever mentioned throwing a new engine in...you should. **** teh hemi (that things a joke...there is NOTHING hemi about it....NOTHING.
go get a chevy 350. it'll be cheap. buy a build up chevy 350 for like $4000 and throw that in there. don't worry about computer and crap, run a carb, and it's possible to get good fuel efficiency witha carb, mainly cause it's mechnically adjusted. turn a screw, and all of a sudden you're running lean...turn it other way, and you're dumping fuel.
seriously, with all the money i've done for tinkering around, i could prolly paids to have my z28 engine dropped into the truck, and can currently be working on a new 350 for the z28.
$1100.00 Gears
$250 IntakeS
$240 Chip
$50 Wire
$320 Headers
$300 ExhaustS
$60 Iridium Plugs
Next on list: lighter wheels, cam, wetshot, roll pan, aluminum driveshaft, shiftkit...
and, that list prolly own't get touched for a while...especially because the z28 is coming out soon, and i'll be screwing with that all summer with spare cash.

^^ yea...one of their engines costs the same as pretty much all the crap i've already done to my truck.

Man, Screw those haters. Tell em you don't give a S*** how big their junk is! You don't got nothing to prove. I mean sure it'd be nice but after all those mods you will still be the guy with the small engine. So if those "big engine" guys did the exact same mods, they'd own. Just how it is. Like you v6 for how it is. Or just go crazy and buy an SRT... I love SRT10, mmmmmm
Im liking Derrick's idea, a chevy engine in a dodge. Do you know what the power is on those 350s. If my engine ever goes out, i might do that.
