Default CAI for 2005 4.7L - which one?

Hello - a noobie here. I used the search function but did not really find what I was looking for so here it goes:
There are so many to choose from and range in price drastically from inexpensive ones on ebay to High K&N units. I know the saying you get what you pay for - but in this case do you really? How is a $400 kit better then a $40? Has anyone tested various CAIs to see if there is a measurable difference in Performance/Efficiency for justifying a higher price or are you just paying for the brand name?

Id check airram.com. middle of the road prices and they do seem to get into testing stuff out. Or ramhammer...RaiderJay installed 1 and swears by the difference after the change of his CAI.

CAI all flow around the same CFM unless you buy a really cheap one of ebay. They all flow within 200 CFM of eachother. It comes down to the look you want really. I always recommend K&N and AEM for quality

Does ramhammer have a website that isn't part of another forum?

Do they make one for the 4.7? I only saw one for the Hemi.

That's what I thought, but then there are comments like this..

Then I think ... hmmm, if the cheap ones don't perform as well, then why would I spend the money on them?..

Where do you find data that suggests that the cheap ones don't perform similar to the more expensive ones?

i had the ebay intake and it was soo loud and annoying and plus it looked liek crap under teh hood ( i hate chrome and hate it even more under the hood). i got a great deal onmy volant and its a great product. looks great almost oem under the hood and performs real nice. added a nice tone to my exhaust and alittle more throttle response. the ebay seeme dliek it was more noise than anything else.

do not buy from ramhammer now they are taking orders and have been for months and not sending any products out. basically taking peopel for their money and screwing them. i think they are going out of business, so i wouldnt go that route.

The ebay ones use very cheap materials, and the crappiest of filters which some have been proven to be even more restrictive than the stock filters. Also, from what I have seen they monting points are always not aligned and they are loud as sin. lol. just dont buy a ebay off name CAI. please dont....
