Sounds like it's a locked tuner. He prob didn't return his vehicle back to stock before he sold it, or didn't return it back to stock and the dealer flash his vehicle when it went in for service without him realizing it!

I've been around the block when it comes to tuners. No tuner is sold that cheap without being locked! I promise.

Might make a nice $70 OBD-II scanner if it has the capability

even if you can get it for $70 usually they charge about $100 to unlock it ( at least thats what superchips generally charges, sometimes more) so its still a deal.

Im losing hope on it, they guy hasn't called me back. I left a message asking if it was locked or not, and said i would buy it if it was unlocked. oh well, sounded good this morning though, I was looking forward to mpg improvements lol.

i talked to the guy, he says he doesnt think it is locked but hes not sure. he hasnt used it in 2 years. if i plug it in before i buy it, will it tell me if its locked? if it is, should i buy it anyways? im thinking about it. supposed to meet him in an hour when he calls again...
