Default still confused about offset/backspacing

so after searching and reading tons of posts, i'm still a little confused. explain to me what the numbers mean. what is the stock offset for the oem 17x8 wheel. as the numbers increase does this bring the wheel out more, or is it the opposite?

edit: after reading 1010 tires.com it says that a positive offest brings the tires in and a negative offset brings the tires out. so, the higher the negative offset the more the tire sticks out? like the tire would sitck out more on a -14 then a -10 right?

Dont know man but thats an ugly wheel. Sorry. Go on ebay and search for a seller called "Offroadtoystore". You can get procomp rims for less than that rim. About 130 a piece.

Rim offsets are determed..
As + Positve offset increases, back spacing also increases, Less offset, means there is less back spacing. meaning the tire will stick out further..

I believe stock tire back space on a 17 is 5.75"(correct if im wrong)

Offset - Distance from the wheel center-line (CL) to the wheel mating surface - greater positive offset moves the tires inward (narrower track)

Backspace - Distance from the inside lip of the wheel to the wheel mating surface
