Another New guy with a new Toy
I have 2 12's in my 08 ram single cab they sound great. I have them in a custom box I built which just fits. I thinks it's 30 inches wide 10 inches depth and around 15 inches high i forget. ( Had to remove those clothes hangers behind the seat but that was easy ) It's right behind my seat. With all of the responses on air space it's completely true. I had a small box before and after building a new one it was like a completely different system. Also, in cars if you open the windows the bass sounds better, but in a truck it makes all of the difference. I have a 1250 watt amp, and its way too much I put it on about 10% and even then I have to turn it down. When I turn it up it can get a little crazy. At about 30% ( by percent i am referring to the bass control on my amp )my rear view mirror points straight down from the vibration. After wires, subs, custom box, and amp mine was around $310.

Just go to sonicelectronix.com and you can pretty much find anything for a good price.
Here's my stuff anyways
AMP
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8841_Power+Acoustik+OV2-1250.html
Subs (happen to be on sale atm)
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+TS-W302R.html
Box
Custom made got 3/4 mdf wood from home depot
Wires
Got my wires from wal-mart the name is Sosche. It was like 35 i think (comes with rca's, ground, power cable, and remote cable)
I honestly got my speakers because I also found them at walmart on sale. I definitely didn't expect them to perform as well as they do. Also, that amp is way over the power needed and is actually over the recommended RMS for the speakers. It works good but you can probably find a different amp that suits your needs. I like my amp so Power Acoustik is a good choice for a non "well known" name brand, which will be cheaper.

Raminator - what I originally listed isn't going to be gut wrenching bass like my old systems but is a hell of a lot better than factory. The difference would be like flipping a switch. Just by changing out the Head unit itself will make a noticable difference. Then changing out the door speakers and adding subs and an amp. You can't go wrong unless you really just cheap out. You get what you pay for. Plus doing a complete system overhaul for under 600 is pretty damn good. Also if you need any help just let me know.
remember in my earlier post when i said someone i know has a bunch of 15's in his jeep
well here he is trying to sell them lol

I think it's the cabin pressure thing but im not sure, rattles quite a bit. Its right behind the drivers seat in between the cab and the bed. The rear view mirror rattles. If your worrying about it in the sound of the car I hear no rattles other than the rear view mirror. Its not a super loud rattle so I don't mind.
hells yeah. all i need i is one of those camper shells to keep it out of the rain. i would probably need another grand in amps just to barely power them. so youre looking at maybe close to four grand, but hey, i could probably shatter some windows with them. Who needs a hemi then when i could just vibrate it to pieces
lol jk
